This page is dedicated to new ways of presenting Buddhist wisdom. I have opened it so that we can start building up a host of new ways to present the wisdom, hopefully reaching more people. I am not very religious or spiritual in general, or learned in this area at all, but I have opened this place because I feel that having these projects will be of benefit.

Since the informal ways of presenting wisdom is often useful, we are making a directory of resources of this type.

The traditional view and the newer views

Both traditional (cautious) views and new perspectives are very valuable learning tools. Therefore, both should be encouraged, and there should be enough space for both to thrive freely.

The informal can just be as useful

Often, it is the informal ways that can make us realise that the content is relevant to our lives, and that the content is actually 'alive'. Often it is the informal 'gatherings' that bring out the spirit of things. And often it is the informal formats that communicate well with the audience, allowing the wisdom to reach more.

New Ways

The transmission of wisdom should be in ways that can reach the audience. Therefore, as long as the wisdom is not really lost, newer, 'more relevant' ways of presenting the information are useful. Therefore, I would encourage such additions for Buddhist culture. I will put links up here later about some relevant resources I may find, and if you have such resources you are invited to drop me a link at fit_05@hotmail.com

Wisdom for Everyone

Wisdom should be communicated to everyone, based on what they can understand, in their langauge. Don't give up on anybody, no matter what state they are in now (everyday people or serious criminals), just talk to them in the way they will best receive it.

In our everyday lives

If wisdom is to be useful in our everyday lives, it is to be applied in our everyday lives suitably. Therefore it should be integrated with the culture and associated activites, applied suitably to the situations and communicated well in an everyday context.

To Communicate

We will have to communicate and provide means to access the wisdom in ways convienient and acceptable to various different cultures. For example, Americans and Indians will be very different, and 17th century methods may need modernisation. To effectivly communicate, we also have to be able to use the appropriate cultural symbols and ways, and that means thouroughly understanding what they value, what they believe, their specific symbols etc.
In the end I'm sure wisdom will be able to reach all.
